LAPTOP ACER BIOS PASSWORD CLEANER

Hi friends!

After 5 years my laptop acer aspire 5044 NWLCI have problem with bios password, now i was found the solution!

I just found the dos program for acer product call "clnpwd". Very easy to use this trouble shoot. Actually i already try another solution such as reset cmos using jumper, unplug cmos battery, using hiren boot and etc. But all the solution failed.

Please refer to below step : (You need standby 1 USB Storage and need to format it)

1) Download clnpwd.zip with this link : www.mediafire.com/?6g4v2q2yvo173q9
**If the link got problem, you can search by google "clnpwd.zip"

2)Then, extract the file. You will found folder dos, clnpwd.exe, and HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.

3)Open folder Dos, extract Boot_dos.zip to folder clnpwd.

4)Install HP USB Disc Storage Format Tool. After finish install, you need to run this progam using administrator. (Right click to the icon HP USB Disc Storage Format, select run as administrator)

5) THIS STEP NEED TO FORMAT YOUR USB STORAGE. MAKE SURE BACKUP YOUR DATA  FIRST.
At HP USB Format Tool, select your usb storage.
File system : FAT - for usb storage below 2GB
FAT32 - for usb storage more than 4gb
Format Option :
Tick Quick Format and Create a DOS startup disk - using DOS system files located at : (browse folder boot_dos and select it.

After that, click START. After finish, close the program.

6) Open folder clnpwd, copy folder boot_dos and clnpwd.exe to your usb storage.

7) Your usb storage now ready to help you reset bios password.
Plug-in usb storage to your acer laptop, turn on the laptop, tap F12 until appear Boot Menu.
Select USB. (If not in list, you need to unplug laptop hard disc. On laptop without harddisc, no need to tap F12)

8) If your usb storage got install properly, your laptop will boot dos program.
On dos program, type as below:

c:>clnpwd.exe   TAP ENTER

You will got :
ACER CLEAN PASSWORD UTILITY V1.0
Press 1-3 to clean any password shown as below:
 1. User Password
 2. Supervisor Password
 3. HDD Password

What you need to do is: key in number Password you want reset.
If you not sure, you can try all. Haha.

9) Reboot your laptop. Press F2 to check the password required appear again or not.
If still appear, you need to find anoter solution. GOOD LUCK ;-)

    1. Hi melissa, thanks for visit my blog. For me, if you have trouble forget with HDD password, you don't have any chance to unlock it back without correct password. HDD password lock is more difficult than bios password lock.

    2. Thanks for advice, this didnt work for me in the end but pointed me in the right direction.
For people with Acer Aspire V7 laptops you need to do the following:
when asked for a bios password press enter 3 times until the unlock or shutdown screen appears, press unclock and it will give you these random numbers, goto bios-pw.org and punch in those numbers. it will then give you a new set of numbers to enter as the bios password, enter those numbers you are now in the bios. Go to the supervisor part and click enter password, it will ask for an old password THIS IS WHERE I WAS STUCK ALL THIS TIME. the actual old password is the new set of numbers bios-pw gave you. once you enter those numbers press enter then enter twice more to leave the password blank. F10 out and then turn off the laptop. when you boot it back up again press the f2 to get in the bios, it should not ask you for a password getting in. you have now unlocked the bios :) hope this helps other people. thanks again YoshiiRoo for pointing me the right way.

I recently got this message with BLACK Screen "BOOTMGR is missing - Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"
When I follow the instruction above & press F2 - I come to a BLACK screen again with blue box which says: "Enter CURRENT Password"
I then get a message : " Password check Fail !! - Press any key"

    4. Just tested the USB and its working. I can access the program.

Took out the hard drive of the laptop. Inserted the USB and turned it on. It wont let the program load. It goes straight to asking the password. I guess the BIOS win this time.

  23. Hi. My acer v3-571 laptop has uefi bios but when I restart it, it goes to the uefi screens first (I have win 10 and 8.1 installed). So I go into the options to restart into the firmware settings (ie bios) but when it restarts it wants the password straight away. This is the password I want to remove.

Do you have any suggestions? I can't make it boot from the USB, and can't change the boot device order because of this.

Thanks for putting this page up. Much appreciate.
    JonnyS.

  24. In preparing the USB, I used the HP tool to format it and then copied the entire boot_dos folder plus the exe file to the fresh USB stick.
Is that correct, or should I have copied the contents of the boot_dos folder not the folder itself?
    thanks.

  25. Just fyi - my acer manual shows a reset of bios password by shorting the 2 solder points of the cms (JCMOS1) which is visible beneath the RAM.
    This worked for me.

I have now set the bios supervisor password to an easily remembered setting (six zeros) in order to disable secure boot which means I can now boot from peripherals too.

For me it's better to have the bios supervisor set to a simple known string than it is to leave it and suddenly find you are locked out of it and windows 10 has enforced secure boot.

    2. thank yoshiiRoo for your advice...but for me is not work at all... because i'm always stuck on bios password...can you help how to change bios system or fix system bios when i got massage "system not found" from my acer.

      Delete
    3. Hi Nunu My,

Basically if you get error message "system not found" at bios, means your computer cannot find any bootable device.

Follow below step if you can get in bios setup:

First step, you need to check boot menu at bios setup. Make sure 1st selection is Hard disk. if you see current selection is USB, maybe it cause your bios cannot find hard disk when you put usb storage. In this case, you can try remove all usb storage then restart your computer.
If your computer still got same error, you can try reinstall windows operation system. i recommend to you backup first your data by remove hdd and install your hdd on external hdd casing.
At the same time, you can verified your hdd condition either working good or not.

Follow below step if you cannot get in bios setup:
First, as i understand you still get error system not found even you already remove hard disk.
Try to check make sure your usb storage is setup properly with dos program clnpwd as i guide above. How to check? Try put at other good pc. if your usb storage can working fine, try put at your acer laptop. remove your hdd and cd/dvd reader. Your bios should boot up with usb storage.
If all step above still not work, i think your motherboard already faulty. Maybe you can get specialist to help you fix it.

      Good luck! ;)
